Unreliable Watch, Hideous Company

I bought this watch from Amazon in December 2007. It was reliable only for the first month, when I wore it only about ten times. Then it ran slower, and slower, until the mechanism died altogether. I sent the carcass to the Invicta Service Center in Florida, and received a postcard from them in August 2008, acknowledging receipt. Six months have now elapsed, and not only have I not received my watch back, but none of my sixteen e-mails have been acknowledged.

During this time of economic recession, we know that customers still need to spend to provide economic stimuli. Sadly, many fine corporations have not survived, or will not survive, the current economic slump. The question is whether your dollars will be directed to a corporation which doesn't care about customer service, or one that cares about the end user after the dollars have left the client's bank account. Amazon has many superb products, backed by excellent customer service, BUT INVICTA WATCH CORP IS NOT AMONG THEIR NUMBER.

My rating for this watch is FOUR STARS for the presentation, ZERO STARS for reliability, and NEGATIVE THREE STARS for customer service, since this is WORSE THAN USELESS. Overall summation : one star out of five in positive territory.

A nice watch - but a bit pricey

Invicta is known for it's innovations in watch design, and with coming up with these wild names such as "Lupah" etc. This watch has no calendar or anything else other than hands to tell time. It is rather unique with the saphire "windows" and the works are quite attractive. I have not worn the watch yet but it is quite a conversation piece when shown to anyone who can appreciate quality watches. I wanted a small collection of nice Invictas and therefore had to get this one, and it appears to be available no where else at this time, and certainly not at this price. It routinely sold for $1,300 and up. So if you like Invictas you should consider this one. If you want only ONE good watch, the lack of a date function and the fact that this is a purely basic good watch means you probably should be looking at some other Invicta model, of which there are dozens of really nice watches with many varied features. If all you want is a "simple" timepiece, it is a great looker!
