rated 1 out of 5 The Watch From Hell
by Charles K. Mone , 2010-03-18

1. Buttons to adjust all functions are indented. Earlier models (that I have owned) had them extruded. (think of an inny or outie belly button). Result: Very frustrating for fingers of any size to adjust anything on the watch

2. If, in setting the time for 8:00 for example, you happen to go to 9 you have to continue through the remainer (10-11-12) etc to get back to 8. The earlier version allowed you simply to back up. If in fact you could do this with this watch, I could not because of the darn indented button design)

3. It is difficult to tell if the alarm is in the on/off position and more difficult to tell if the hourly alarm is in the on/off position. As a side note, who buys a watch with the goal of having an alarm that rings on an h ourly basis? You may find that an hourly alarm during the nighttime bothers you or, if not you, your BFF. During the daytime co workers tend not to be fond of that function. Maybe a light or maybe shading of the watch face to indicate an alarm function is activated would be helpful

4. A booklet that is so small and at the same time so lengthy it is intimidating. We are in an internet age. Put in a o ne page note that says "For detailed instructions consult Casio/Net at Watch instructions and download the particular ones you need. (That would save paper as well)

5. Amaxon, please tell your representatives how the Review process works. I could not figure out how to send this e mail so I called the Rep. I told him I knew I was overlooking something and that it was my fault but he did not have a clue what the review process was all about. Luckily, my daughter called and figured it out at once.

I co ntinue to be a huge fan of Amazon. I love the ordering process and always asking other companies why they do not adopt similar, simple procedures. I love the book selection and the option to buy new or used.

rated 5 out of 5 Another tough watch by casio
by thundercloud from Central Missouri, 2010-03-17

I have owned this model of Casio watch in the past. The band will give away on you before the watch quits working and they keep very accurate time. The G-Shock model can take a lot of abuse. Casio watches like this are the modern day equivilant of the old Timex watches where John Cameron Swayze would say on their commercials " It takes a licking and keeps on ticking " Of course a digital watch does not tick but you know what I mean.

rated 5 out of 5 Very nice strong watch
by David from UK, 2010-03-15

I find This watch very smart and attractive, and quite comfortable to wear for a g-shock watch. I really like the classic retro 80's look of this watch too. It has obviously the time, alarm, countdown timer and stopwatch. all the digits are quite large and easy to see. It also has a nice aqua green glow for the backlight which stays on for a few seconds when the light button is released.

I might just buy another one of these watches, since I'm starting a small watch collection, so I'll have 1 to wear and 1 on display, it looks great on display!

I heard these watches are used by the military, and emergency services like police and firemen etc.

rated 5 out of 5 Nice simple watch
by S. Khan from New York/California, 2010-03-08

If you want a simple digital watch, this is perfect. It also looks cool since it has a retro feel to it. I have a few g-shocks and this one is nice because it is not overwhelming

rated 4 out of 5 Great watch, annoying backlight
by Connor McKay , 2010-03-04

Incredibly durable, very easy to use, and all the features you need. My only complaint with this watch is in regards to the backlight, and when it refuses to work. When setting the alarm, the backlight will not come on, even though that button performs no other function in this mode. This means that you cannot set the alarm in the dark, which is very annoying if you are camping or in a shared room and don't want to turn on the lights just to set your alarm. The backlight will also not work when setting the event timer, but instead toggles the "automatic" mode which causes the timer to restart automatically when it reaches zero.

Overall, its a great watch, but this one design flaw means I probably wouldn't purchase another one.
